First Post-List Interview!

And I guess I’m writing here now…

For five years now I’ve been blogging over at myfatherslist.com, providing behind-the-scenes type updates on the project. But now the project is finished. And it’s also a book. So from now on, I’ll be updating here and in my weekly newsletter.

Yesterday I had my first interview air about having finished the list and it was a little surreal. A) Leigh Scheps at Inside Edition is so talented, accurate and quick and she did an incredible job (which was a relief, given my nervousness once I learned they’d include my actual singing voice in the story!) and B) in case anyone is wondering what I might look like after a week of being awake for eight hours working every single night (for real, I went to bed at 8 a.m. every day last week), here’s your chance to see that…I’m sure in many years, I will be grateful I have documented evidence of just how tired I looked after spending a week finishing the edits on my book. What, you say you didn’t notice my exhaustion? Thank you, I love you. But yeah, I was pooped. I’m avoiding any and all comments on the story, because I can imagine some crazy person is saying something like “Whoa, she aged a lot in five years!” And of course the experience I’ve had with the list itself has felt like the opposite of aging…if anything I look and feel younger now than I did then, or at least more youthful. Probably because I lost so much baggage along the way.

Just sitting here reflecting on my cute watermelon…

Inside Edition did a great job of capturing that, the unconscious drive I had to heal, in this story. Check it out…if you DARE!
